Grading Policy

• Participation in the concerts and performances for each marking period is included in the calculation of the marking period grade point average. The performance constitutes a significant portion of the marking period grade, as they are the outcome goal of the course.

• If a student misses a dress rehearsal or performance due to illness [with a doctor’s note], observance of a religious holiday, major family life cycle event, death in the family, the teacher may assign a make-up project or alternative assessment.

• The teacher may designate extra credit opportunities for additional performances or activities.

• Students who enrolled in Honors Music Performance classes are required to participate in the CJMEA and All Shore Orchestra Auditions. Students will be required to submit periodic recordings of the CJMEA and All Shore Orchestra requirements for evaluation and teacher feedback. [Portfolio
