NOTIFICATION/CONSEQUENCES OF MISSING HOMEWORK
Missing homework assignments are tracked by each individual teacher within each marking period. The consequences for missing homework are listed below. All students will be given a “clean slate” each marking period so they will be motivated to demonstrate their improvement in homework completion.
Missing Homework Assignments
-
The teacher verbally notifies the student about the missing assignment.
-
The student must complete the assignment (or alternate assignment) to obtain credit/partial credit.
-
When homework is frequently missing, the teacher will reach out to inform parents via phone or email.
-
Consistent problems regarding a student’s completion of work will be communicated with the administration and guidance counselor via email. This may result in a referral to the school’s Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Committee.
